Dissertation Inspiration: How To Get Productive

Back at uni and I have realised that I am in serious need of some dissertation inspiration. With just over two months to go I have decided to hit the library with full force.

I reached a bit of a stand still with my dissertation, and up until now have pretty much chosen to ignore the problem, oops. BUT that is going to change and I AM going to get more reading done, I AM going to put some words on the paper, and it WILL be done by the deadline. YES.

So if you are like me and struggling to get out of a work rut here’s my go-to list to kickstart some productivity! ...

CROMA, Manchester – Eating out on a budget but with style!

Becca and I were looking for somewhere in Manchester for lunch when we came across Croma. Just off Albert Square, Croma serves up delicious Italian food at affordable prices. Even for us students!

The British Synchronised Skating Championships

Ice skating is one of those things that I have ALWAYS wished I could do, my mum used to teach it and I am just incredibly jealous of her ability to jump around and not fall flat on her face.

So when I heard our friend, Karen, was competing in the British Synchro Championships in Sheffield last Saturday I decided to head over to cheer her on.

Thursday Lates At Manchester Art Gallery, 'Video Jam' Review

Last night I met a friend at the Manchester Art Gallery for a late night exhibition and 'Video Jam', I didn't really know what to expect but assumed it would be something along the lines of a live band, some wine and a look around the galleries.

Don't get me wrong, there was wine, live music and art but it was so different from what I had pictured. For a start the place was absolutely packed and the music, rather than being a band in the corner of the room, was almost trance like. There were videos being projected on screens and the atmosphere was great, very arty.

A Day in London: Tourist spots and all things arty

On the second day we did lots of cultural activities. Being the keen people we are, we were up early and at Somerset House before it had opened. This was fine as the cafe was open and the weather was amazing so we enjoyed coffee and cakes outside in the square. We then looked at the exhibition 'Blumenfeld Studio:  New York, 1941-1960'. Whether you are into art or not the exhibition encompasses everything at the root of female pop culture today. It looks at fashion, beauty and features the models photographed by Erwin Blumenfeld for magazine covers in the prosperous, post-war New York; including the very first photograph for Vogue.

A Day in London: Shopping, a show and a night out

Becca, our friend Becky and myself headed down south for the weekend. This 2 day trip to London was decided on a bit of a whim, if I'm honest. But there is nothing better than a spontaneous getaway! We had been wanting to look at some art exhibitions so what better place is there than the capital itself.

As a group of four girls this city perfectly combined all of our holiday preferences. Whether you wanted a beach holiday, cultural trip,to experience the nightlife or have private lessons from Spanish lifeguards (yes, this happened!) - it has everything. Of course we wanted to do all of the above! With only 5 days we managed to do so much, although the motto 'who needs sleep' had to be repeatedly mentioned. That said, Barcelona seems to be alive at every hour, so obviously we didn't want to miss out. We stayed at the Generator hostel, which was not like any other hostel we've seen. The funky decor, swinging ceiling chairs and general service provided was similar to many contemporary hotels.

Guide To Dublin: At Night

Dublin at night?

Expect stag do's, great pubs, live music, and a serious lack of Irish people.

Here is what to do in...

Guide to Dublin: Daytime

I’m a big fan of the Irish. I had been going on about a trip to Dublin for about a year before I decided it was about time to head over and find my Irish husband. I reeled Meli into my plans and off we went.
